Bio

Joe Bates, vice president, specializes in agribusiness banking and brings 40 years of ag lending experience to Heartland Bank customers. He especially enjoys helping family farm operations reach their financial goals. Joe graduated with a bachelor's degree in agriculture from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Joe is active in the community, serving as the treasurer of Princeton Youth Football since 2006. He has also coached girls' softball at Princeton High School, Logan Junior High School and for travel teams for over 15 years. Joe has also previously served as president of the Princeton Public Schools Foundation and currently holds multiple leadership positions in his church.

Joe and his wife, Jody, live in Princeton and are the parents of three grown children. When not watching their youngest play college volleyball and softball, Joe enjoys working in his yard at home, at the local softball field and at the church.
