Bio

Nathan Koch, senior vice president and Iowa market president, has over 20 years of banking experience having held senior management roles at community banks in Iowa and Illinois. Nathan previously served as President & CEO of NXT Bank prior to its sale to Heartland Bank. He is passionate about commercial lending as he aims to help businesses secure the financial support for growth and success. He prioritizes building strong relationships with customers and providing customized solutions to meet their unique needs.

Nathan earned a Juris Doctorate with distinction and a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Iowa. He is a licensed attorney in Iowa and Illinois and worked for VedderPrice as a bank mergers and acquisitions and regulatory attorney. Nathan also shares his knowledge as an adjunct professor at the University of Iowa Tippie College of Business, teaching Applied Wealth Management.

Nathan is actively engaged in the community, and currently serves as the President of the Board of Directors of the Iowa City Community School District Foundation. He has also been involved in various organizations including the Ronald McDonald House of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois, Zion Lutheran Church, United Action for Youth and the Iowa Children’s Museum.
