Bio

Mark Ptacek, senior vice president, specializing in commercial real estate and small- and mid-size commercial banking. He directs Heartland Bank’s lending efforts and new banking relationship origination activities in and around the Chicago area. Mark enjoys traveling around Chicago and the suburbs meeting with business owners and real-estate specialists.

Mark has three decades of banking and financial experience. He began his banking career in 1988 as a mailroom clerk for Continental Bank of Western Springs. Today, Mark works in that same office location, which is now a part of Heartland Bank. Mark attended St. Ignatius College Prep in Chicago and graduated from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee.

He is former president and an active member of the Western Springs Business Association and is a former president of Western Springs School District 101. He is also treasurer and board member of Aging Care Connections, a nonprofit agency in LaGrange that provides guidance and support to help older individuals age well.

Mark currently resides in Chicago with his wife, Patty. In his spare time, he enjoys playing paddle tennis and snowboarding.
