Bio

Aaron Johnson, senior vice president and market leader, joined Heartland Bank in 2001 as a residential loan officer. Before that, Aaron spent several years working in the mortgage industry. Today he collaborates directly with customers and oversees a staff of employees dedicated to helping business owners attain commercial loans. He and his team also help customers utilize other Heartland Bank services such as bank deposits, wealth management, ag services and treasury services.

Aaron earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Illinois State University in Normal and was awarded a graduate degree at the Graduate School of Banking from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. Active in the community, he served as the Executive Chair for the American Heart Association, helping raise money and awareness as well as attending many fundraising events.

Originally from Camargo, Illinois, Aaron currently resides just outside of Champaign with his wife and their three children. In his spare time, Aaron enjoys outdoor activities, cheering on his children at their various sporting events and cheering for University of Illinois athletic teams.
