Aaron earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at Illinois State University in Normal, and also was awarded a graduate degree at the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He spent several years working in the mortgage industry prior to joining Heartland Bank in 2001, where he started out as a residential loan officer. After a short period in that role, Aaron began

concentrating on commercial lending. He was promoted to the title of Senior Vice President in 2008 and now has more than 15 years of commercial lending experience.

Aaron serves on the local executive league team for the American Heart Association, helping raise money and awareness for the organization in various ways. The team’s biggest fundraiser is the annual Champaign Heart Derby event held in May.

After living in the city of Champaign for two decades, Aaron now has a home in the bucolic countryside between Champaign and Monticello. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Nikki, whom he met in college, and their three children, Charlie, Grace and Emerson.
