Bio

Patrick V. Masso, CFA, CFP® joined the Wealth Management division in October 2016 and serves as Senior Vice President, Portfolio Management & Financial Planning Director. He is responsible for overseeing the investment process for Asset Management and Trust Services. Patrick constructs strategic and tactical asset allocation models, selects and monitors equity, fixed income, and alternative investment mutual fund managers, and crafts the large cap individual domestic equity model. Additionally, Patrick meets with existing and prospective clients, produces economic and investment update publications, and delivers investment presentations to target audiences.

Prior to joining Heartland Bank and Trust Company, Patrick worked as Trust Investment Officer at South Side Trust and Savings Bank in Peoria, IL. There he was responsible for developing, structuring, and monitoring the Model Portfolio Program and meeting with clients to discuss investment goals, risk tolerance, constraints, portfolio performance, and expectations for the economy and capital markets. Before his time at South Side Bank, Patrick spent three and a half years at Commerce Bank where he supported two portfolio managers in the Trust company.

A Peoria native, Patrick holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Bradley University, where he finished first in his class. Patrick received the 2011 Outstanding Finance Graduate Award and the 2011 Foster College of Business Administration Robert J. Saner Award in Business Administration.

Patrick served as a board member of the Better Business Bureau of Central Illinois from 2015-2018. Patrick passed all three levels of the CFA Institute Chartered Financial Analyst exam on his first attempt and was awarded the CFA charter in August 2016.
