Shred Days

Shred Days Cancelled in 2021

Due to the continued COVID-19 pandemic, it will not be possible to ensure the safety of our employees and customers while hosting Shred Days. For this reason, we will not be scheduling shred events during 2021. Please stay tuned to our website and follow us on Facebook for any future updates.

We understand that cancellation of these events does not change the need for shredding services; customers are encouraged to continue shredding sensitive documents for their safety. Below is a short list of resources* customers may consider to fill this need:

  • C.O.P.S. Paper Shredding & Media Disposal
  • The UPS Store
  • Office Depot/Office Max
*Heartland Bank provides these resources as information only. Individuals should explore all options and possible associated costs thoroughly.

  • Spiral bound materials. Metal or plastic spirals do not need to be removed.
  • 3-ring binders. Metal rings do not need to be removed.

Unacceptable Materials:

  • Cardboard boxes. When materials are brought in cardboard boxes, we empty the contents of the box and give the box back. – If customers leave boxes, COPS will take those and recycle them.
    • Small check boxes are minimal contaminant and are acceptable.
  • Black plastic bags. When materials are brought in black plastic bags, we break open the bag, empty contents into the service bin, and collect and throw away the black plastic bags. Clear and white plastic bags are better.
