About Brian
Bio
Brian McDowell, real estate broker at Heartland Bank and Trust Company, has been serving clients in central Illinois since 1987, with a career focused on agricultural and commercial lending and, since 2020, farm real estate brokerage. He joined Heartland Bank’s predecessor, Farmer City State Bank, in 2005 and retired from his daily banking responsibilities in January 2025. Brian continues to provide farm real estate brokerage services through Heartland Bank as a sponsoring broker, working from the bank’s Farmer City branch and leveraging his decades of experience to help clients achieve their land ownership and investment goals.
Brian earned his bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University and is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and the American Bankers Association Graduate School of Agri-Finance and Banking.
Brian grew up in Mahomet and has lived in Monticello since 1999.
