About Peter

Peter Gruben, vice president and senior portfolio manager, joined Heartland Bank and Trust Company’s Wealth Management team with the completion of a merger in 2026. Gruben has more than 30 years of experience as an investment professional, bringing extensive knowledge of financial markets and portfolio management. His expertise includes investment management for trusts, agency, IRAs and charitable accounts.

Gruben holds a Bachelor of Science in finance from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Business Administration in finance from DePaul University in Chicago. He also has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
