G-I Loans for Heroes

Heartland Bank is proud to be an approved lender for the G-I Loans for Heroes program! Designed to assist Illinois veterans and active-duty personnel in achieving home ownership, the program is a collaborative effort of the Illinois Housing Development Authority and the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs.
Through the program, service men and women who qualify receive:

• A MRB mortgage for 80% of the purchase price of the residence.
• A second mortgage for 15% of the purchase price in an amount up to $30,000, at 1% below the rate on the first mortgage.
• A grant for closing costs up to $2,500
• Required homeownership counseling
• Required down payment of 5% of the purchase price.

Do you qualify?

• Are you either:
  • an honorably discharged Veteran?
    
  • currently serving in the Armed Services and a first-time home
      buyer?
    
  • a member of the Reserve Forces currently on active duty and a
      first-time homebuyer?
• Do you have 5% of the purchase price to apply towards your new home?
• Are you interested in buying a single-family home, duplex, or condominium?
• Are you interested in buying a home as a primary residence?
